A welcoming primary school in Hackney is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their team immediately. This is a part-time afternoon role, ideal for someone passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs in a nurturing school environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing one-to-one and small group support to pupils during the afternoon session
- Assisting class teachers in delivering an inclusive and engaging learning experience
- Supporting pupils’ emotional and behavioural wellbeing
- Applying de-escalation techniques to manage and resolve challenging situations calmly and effectively
Requirements
- Essential: Training and/or experience in de-escalation techniques
- Previous experience working with children in a school or similar setting
- A patient, compassionate and proactive approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
Hours & Pay:
- Monday–Thursday: 12pm–4pm
- Friday: 12pm–3pm
- Competitive hourly rate depending on experience
