This is an opportunity to join a well-established, independent accountancy and advisory firm offering full-service support across audit, tax, payroll, bookkeeping, consultancy and business growth. The Role

As a Senior Tax Accountant, you will take ownership of a mixed portfolio of corporate and personal tax clients, delivering both compliance and advisory services while working closely with partners and colleagues.

  • Managing and reviewing corporation tax and self-assessment tax returns
  • Providing tax planning and advisory support, identifying opportunities for tax efficiency
  • Managing tax compliance processes, ensuring accuracy and timely submission
  • Handling HMRC enquiries and liaising directly with tax authorities
  • Supporting VAT compliance and advisory work, including registrations and queries
  • Preparing and reviewing P11D and PAYE Settlement Agreements
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of tax legislation and sharing insights with the team
  • Supporting and mentoring junior team members as appropriate
  • Contributing to the ongoing growth and development of the tax department

What They\’re Looking For

  • 6+ years\’ experience within a UK accountancy practice (essential)
  • Strong experience across corporation tax and personal tax
  • AAT qualified or ACA / ACCA / CTA qualified or part-qualified
  • Ability to manage clients, deadlines and workloads independently
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Experience using tax and accounting software such as IRIS, CCH, Sage and/or Xero
  • Confident communicator with strong client relationship skills
  • You must have at least 4 years UK Practice experience

This role is practice-only – candidates from industry or in-house tax backgrounds will not be considered.
