Contract: 3-month temporary (Potential Temporary-Permanent)

Hours: Part-time (minimum 3/4 days per week - flexible to suit candidate)

Salary: £30,000- £32,000 (full time equivalent DOE)

About the Role

Our client is seeking a Senior Finance Assistant to provide temporary support to the finance team. This role is ideal for someone with strong Xero experience who can work flexibly and independently across all aspects of purchase and sales ledger management, reconciliations, and general finance administration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily finance email inbox
  • Complete daily Xero bank reconciliations across all accounts
  • Check and reconcile suspense accounts
  • Approve and input purchase invoices
  • Check and resolve outstanding purchase orders
  • Prepare and process bi-weekly payment runs
  • Process overpayment refunds
  • Complete credit card reconciliations and maintain user records
  • Raise invoices for the Project and International Trade Teams
  • Manage stationery orders and collate supplier invoices
  • Handle petty cash and expense claims
  • Process salary recharges and send monthly customer statements
  • Prepare and monitor Xero debtors ageing reports (monthly) and receivables (weekly)
  • Chase outstanding debtors
  • Agree and reconcile supplier accounts
  • Prepare prepayment reconciliations and assist with payment run preparation

Person Specification

  • Minimum 3 years' experience using Xero (essential)
  • At least 3 years' experience in purchase ledger and sales ledger functions
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Proactive and able to work independently
  • Flexible and adaptable to a variety of accounting tasks
