The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Management Accountant to join a well-established manufacturing business operating within a multi-entity group environment.
Reporting to the Group Finance Director, you'll take ownership of a standalone manufacturing subsidiary whilst supporting the wider finance function with accurate reporting, strong financial controls and continuous process improvement.
This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys taking ownership and working closely with operational teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce monthly management accounts for a standalone manufacturing business.
- Take responsibility for the day-to-day finance operations, including sales ledger, purchase ledger, credit control and payroll oversight.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records.
- Monitor daily cash flow, bank reconciliations and multi-currency bank accounts.
- Support treasury activities and manage invoice discounting reconciliations.
- Prepare journals, accruals, prepayments and supporting schedules for month-end reporting.
- Provide financial analysis and reporting to support the Group Finance Director with the preparation of consolidated group accounts.
- Maintain strong financial controls and ensure the integrity of financial data.
- Work closely with colleagues across operations, sales and procurement to improve financial processes and drive efficiencies.
- Support business improvement initiatives, including finance systems developments and ERP projects.
- Assist with year-end audit requirements and statutory reporting.
About You
We're looking for someone who can confidently manage their own workload whilst building strong relationships across the business.
You'll ideally have
- Experience producing management accounts within a manufacturing or product-based business.
- Previous experience working within a multi-entity environment.
- Strong knowledge of month-end processes, balance sheet reconciliations and financial reporting.
- Experience managing cash flow and bank reconciliations, ideally including multi-currency transactions.
- Excellent Excel skills and confidence working with finance systems/ERP software.
- A proactive approach with strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
- AAT qualified, part-qualified (ACCA/CIMA) or qualified by experience.
Desirable
- Manufacturing costing or stock accounting experience.
- Experience supporting ERP implementations or finance process improvements.
- Exposure to invoice discounting or treasury management.
- Experience working within a growing SME or group structure.
