A highly regarded independent accountancy practice in Newcastle-under-Lyme is looking to add an experienced Bookkeeper to their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys client interaction, cloud accounting and being part of a supportive, forward-thinking environment.
The Role
You’ll work closely with the Cloud Manager and wider accounts team, supporting a varied portfolio of SME clients across bookkeeping, VAT and cloud accounting solutions.
Duties will include:
- Bookkeeping to trial balance stage
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns
- Managing bank reconciliations and bank feeds
- Supporting clients with cloud accounting software
- Training and demonstrating systems to clients
- Working with Xero, QuickBooks, Hubdoc, AutoEntry and other cloud platforms
- Assisting clients moving from traditional bookkeeping methods to cloud-based solutions
What They’re Looking For
- Previous bookkeeping experience within practice
- Strong Xero experience is essential
- Confident with double-entry bookkeeping and VAT
- Good understanding of accruals, prepayments and depreciation
- Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude
- Full UK driving licence and access to transport
