Are you tired of feeling like just another number? Do you enjoy building relationships with clients, taking ownership of your work and being part of a team where everyone genuinely knows and supports each other? If so, this could be exactly what you've been looking for.
I'm working with a well-established, family-run accountancy practice that has built its reputation the right way – through exceptional client service, long-standing relationships and a team-focused culture. With 16 staff, they've created an environment that combines the professionalism of a successful practice with the feel of a close-knit team.
Due to continued growth, they're looking to appoint a Practice Bookkeeper or Accounts Assistant who wants more than just processing numbers. This is an opportunity to take responsibility for your own portfolio of clients, become a trusted point of contact and develop your career within practice.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Managing your own portfolio of bookkeeping clients
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns
- Completing bank reconciliations
- Processing sales and purchase ledgers
- Working across Xero, QuickBooks and Sage
- Supporting clients with day-to-day bookkeeping queries
- Building strong relationships with business owners and decision-makers
- Helping clients stay organised, compliant and informed
Why This Role Stands Out:
- Own your client portfolio
- Build genuine client relationships
- Join a supportive family-run practice
- Varied workload across different industries
- Be recognised for your contribution
- Opportunity to grow your responsibilities over time
- Stable, established and respected local firm
What They're Looking For:
You'll ideally have experience within an accountancy practice environment and be comfortable preparing VAT returns and bookkeeping for multiple clients. Whether you're an experienced Practice Bookkeeper or an Accounts Assistant ready for your next challenge, the most important thing is having the right attitude, strong attention to detail and a genuine passion for helping clients.
The Opportunity:
This is the sort of role that doesn't come up often. A chance to join a friendly, growing practice where you'll be trusted, supported and given the opportunity to build something of your own rather than simply processing work handed down from above. If you're looking for a role where your contribution genuinely matters and where you can develop your career within a supportive practice environment, I'd love to tell you more.
