Think Accountancy are looking for an immediately available Part-Time Payroll Administrator to support a friendly and hands-on business based in a rural location on the outskirts of St Albans. Due to the location, access to your own transport is essential. Working Monday to Wednesday, this is a great opportunity for an experienced Payroll Administrator to join a supportive team and provide essential payroll support while the business undergoes a new system implementation.

The Role

  • You will take responsibility for the day-to-day payroll administration, ensuring payroll data is accurate, complete and ready to be submitted to the external payroll bureau for processing.
  • Alongside payroll, there will also be some general finance administration, including invoice processing and supplier payments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing weekly and monthly payroll for approximately 150 employees
  • Processing starters and leavers
  • Calculating holiday pay, SSP, SMP and SPP
  • Processing staff expenses
  • Checking absences have been correctly recorded on the HR system
  • Investigating and resolving payroll discrepancies
  • Maintaining HMRC records
  • Ensuring employee records are accurate and up to date
  • Processing salary changes, annual increases and bonuses
  • Managing payroll queries from employees
  • Supporting with invoice processing and supplier payments
  • Providing general administrative support as required

About You

  • We are looking for someone who has previous experience working in a Payroll Administrator role
  • Has a good understanding of payroll calculations and processes
  • Is confident checking and validating payroll data
  • Has experience using ADP software
  • Is available to start immediately
  • Is happy working on-site Monday to Wednesday
  • Has access to a car due to the rural location
