THH Recruitment are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established and nationally recognised organisation for a Waste & Recycling Manager based in Batley. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced individual within the waste, recycling, logistics, or operational management sector to join a fast-paced and growing operation focused on sustainability, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will oversee and proactively manage waste and recycling operations, ensuring compliance, driving efficiencies, managing contractor relationships, and supporting wider operational and commercial objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Managing the movement of waste streams from source through to recycling, recovery, or disposal
- Overseeing day-to-day waste and recycling operations
- Managing high-value contracts and third-party suppliers
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Ensuring full compliance with all waste, recycling, environmental, and health & safety regulations
- Collecting, analysing, and presenting operational data to support strategic decision-making
- Driving efficiencies and identifying innovative recycling and waste management solutions
- Managing KPI performance and service level agreements (SLAs)
- Supporting and developing team members
- Identifying new business opportunities and operational improvements
- Working collaboratively across multiple departments and operational functions
- Previous experience within the waste and recycling sector
- Experience managing complex operational projects
- Experience managing contractors and third-party suppliers
- Ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously
- Strong IT and data analysis skills
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Logistics or supply chain experience
- Experience managing teams and performance targets
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Textile recycling experience
- Experience working with national waste providers
Monday to Friday 36 hours per week. Flexibility may occasionally be required to visit contractor sites or work outside standard hours.
