Hours: Full Time, Site-Based

  • Monday to Thursday: 7:30am – 5:30pm
  • Friday: 7:30am – 2:30pm

About the Role

THH Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business based in Batley Carr, Dewsbury. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Office & Production Manager to oversee the daily operations of a busy manufacturing facility. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for managing both office and production functions, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, maintaining high productivity levels, and creating a positive working environment. The role covers app management, production planning, dispatch operations, health & safety compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Team Management
    • Lead, manage and motivate a workforce of approximately 30 employees across office, production and dispatch departments.
    • Monitor attendance, timekeeping and employee performance.
    • Support employee development through training and performance reviews.
    • Foster a positive workplace culture and maintain high standards of conduct.
  • Payroll & Workforce Administration
    • Prepare and submit accurate payroll information, including working hours, overtime and holiday records.
    • Manage staff holidays, absences and workforce planning.
    • Maintain clocking and attendance records.
    • Assist with labour cost monitoring and resource allocation.
  • Health & Safety
    • Ensure compliance with all health and safety legislation and company procedures.
    • Conduct regular workplace inspections, risk assessments and safety audits.
    • Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions where required.
    • Promote a strong health and safety culture throughout the business.
  • Production Operations
    • Plan and coordinate production schedules to meet customer demand.
    • Monitor productivity, workflow and quality standards.
    • Identify and resolve production challenges and bottlenecks.
    • Ensure machinery, equipment and operational processes are utilised effectively.
    • Analyse operational performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
    • Drive efficiency initiatives to reduce waste and improve productivity.
    • Implement practical process improvements while maintaining quality standards.
  • Dispatch & Logistics
    • Oversee dispatch operations to ensure orders are shipped accurately and on time.
    • Coordinate with warehouse, production and transport providers.
    • Ensure all dispatch documentation is completed correctly.
    • Resolve any delivery or distribution issues promptly.
  • Employee Welfare
    • Support employee wellbeing and engagement.
    • Address workplace concerns professionally and fairly.
    • Promote a positive, supportive and inclusive working environment.

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Production Manager, Operations Manager, Manufacturing Manager or similar leadership role.
  • Experience managing teams of 20+ employees.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent organisational and planning abilities.
  • Experience handling payroll administration, attendance records and workforce planning.
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety responsibilities within a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Manufacturing or production industry background.
  • IOSH, NEBOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
  • Experience implementing continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing principles.

  • Direct Reports: Office & Administrative Staff, Dispatch & Warehouse Team
