About the Team
The Regulatory Compliance Team is based within the Beauty division of THG Labs.
It is responsible for reviewing and assessing current and new cosmetic regulations globally, including horizon scanning, and ensuring compliance of ingredients, materials, and formulations with all applicable regulations.
Role Summary
Reporting to the Senior Compliance Officer, the Technical Information Officer assists the team with accurate data collection, reporting, maintenance and researching compliance of raw materials and finished cosmetic products.
The role supports the delivery of projects, ensuring products are safe, legal and sustainable.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect data relating to raw materials and finished goods to support full compliance in all countries and regions and certifications as needed by the business and clients.
- Ensure accurate management of data in systems required for the development and maintenance of cosmetic regulatory documentation.
- Maintain and collate data relating to external certifications such as COSMOS, RSPO, Vegan Society, Halal and Cruelty Free International.
- Report and maintain data relating to the sustainability of raw materials and finished products.
- Develop knowledge of regulations relating to the development, manufacture, and sale of cosmetic and toiletry products.
- Communicate with suppliers to request up‑to‑date and accurate information, ensuring processing in accordance with service‑level agreements.
- Follow company work instructions and procedures, communicating effectively and positively with all teams, colleagues and managers.
- Take reasonable care for health and safety, cooperate with all health & safety measures, report any hazardous situations and promote a positive working atmosphere.
- Perform any other duties required from time to time.
Qualifications
- Experience within the cosmetics, personal care, chemical, pharmaceutical, food or regulatory compliance sectors.
- Knowledge of cosmetic regulations, ingredient compliance or product certification requirements.
- Familiarity with certification schemes such as COSMOS, RSPO, Vegan Society, Halal, and Cruelty Free International.
- Understanding of sustainability reporting and environmental data management.
- Experience liaising with suppliers to obtain technical, regulatory or compliance documentation.
