About Finance at THG

THG's Finance department is a rapidly growing and evolving team, covering all areas of central functions such as Accounts Receivable and Payable, Treasury, Tax and Group Finance, to specific Commercial teams for each of THG's divisions. About the Role

Step into a pivotal role at the heart of THG's global finance organisation, where tax sits at the centre of a fast‑moving, multi‑jurisdictional business. You will be supporting the team on the delivery of high quality Direct and Indirect Tax compliance services. You will assist in a range of compliance obligations across the globe with freedom to get involved in other areas of tax to progress your learning and experience. The ideal candidate has a strong academic background who is committed to building a career in tax. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential as is the desire to learn and continue to develop through your professional qualifications. You’ll take ownership of your area, while gaining hands-on exposure to various areas of tax to enhance your learning and personal professional development. This is an exceptional opportunity for an upcoming talented tax professional – particularly someone looking to broaden their skillset and build a long‑term career in a dynamic, high‑growth environment. You’ll be empowered to shape how tax supports the business, with clear pathways to progress into broader compliance/advisory, commercial finance, or global tax leadership roles.

As a Tax Accountant you will:

  • Assist with timely preparation and submission of Corporation Tax returns across multiple THG entities.
  • Assist with timely preparation and submission of VAT returns across multiple THG entities, to include submission of UK and co‑ordination of submission by third party advisers for other European/ROW returns.
  • Assist with Transfer pricing exercises and employment tax related obligations.
  • Work with AP and AR teams to enhance standing data accordingly.
  • Drive improvements and lead on timely resolutions.
  • Identify new ways to streamline existing processes and improve efficiency.
  • Work collaboratively with other Tax Analysts in their compliance obligations, we are one team.
  • Assist in the completion of Balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Support with audits and other 3rd party requests.

What skills and experience do I need for this role?

  • ATT/AAT qualified (or equivalent).
  • Part qualified or looking to commence CTA / ACA / ACCA.
  • Ideal candidate would have experience of UK and international tax, covering both direct and indirect compliance.
  • Computer literate, particularly with Excel, but also competent with Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and keep to deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Self‑motivated and resilient.
  • Attention to detail whilst keeping in mind the 'big picture'.
