About the Procurement team and the Role
The Procurement Team strategically sources and manages raw materials, packaging and other essential components for high‑volume production. This includes developing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, ensuring cost‑effective purchasing and evaluating the end‑to‑end procurement process. Effective procurement at THG Labs is crucial for meeting high consumer demand, navigating intense competition and maintaining profitability. The Procurement Buyer supports all team members in landing strategic targets, supply‑chain management and other duties, reporting to the Head of Beauty Procurement.
Responsibilities
- Identify and onboard new suppliers, ensuring compliance with sustainability targets, T&Cs, and payment terms.
- Maintain accurate supplier database and pricing data in ERP.
- Support negotiations on inflationary materials to minimise impact to the business.
- Assist in finding alternative supply‑chain solutions and mitigating risks.
- Complete NCR actions within agreed timelines and meet KPIs.
- Conduct supplier performance reviews, identify trends and propose quality improvements.
- Send RFIs to suppliers and report findings to the procurement team.
- Provide administrative support and take clear, concise meeting notes.
- Communicate effectively across teams and promote a positive work environment.
- Comply with health & safety requirements: take reasonable care for personal and others' safety; follow H&S training and report hazards or imminent dangers (“see it, report it”).
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications
- Experience in procurement (ideally within the Beauty industry but not essential).
- Strong negotiation and relationship‑management skills.
- CIPS Diploma level 2 plus or working towards a CIPS diploma.
- Experience managing procurement processes and systems.
- Experience running and managing tenders.
- High level of commercial acumen.
- Highly competent negotiator.
- Data analysis.
- Knowledge of key commercial clauses.
