We are recruiting for a data-driven Sustainability Lead, specialising in Packaging Compliance, to manage our packaging compliance obligations, and work with teams across the Group to make improvements in packaging recyclability to drive down costs and reduce the environmental impact. In addition, the role holder will report on other compliance metrics to a range of audiences. The successful candidate will report into the Director of Sustainability.
Responsibilities
- Data collection from multiple internal and external sources, and subsequent data analysis and reporting aligned to UK EPR and International packaging compliance schemes.
- Invoice and budget management ensuring THG's compliance with various compliance schemes, liaising with multiple internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Manage reporting of compliance data for packaging obligations and other compliance metrics.
- Manage regular compliance updates and meetings with internal stakeholders and consultants, as required.
- Monitor developments on relevant packaging regulation.
- Involvement in Group-wide sustainability projects related to packaging waste reduction, improving recyclability of packaging, and increasing recycled content across relevant packaging types.
- Support Director of Sustainability and wider sustainability team on delivering a strategic multiyear plan to mitigate compliance risks and meet sustainability goals.
Qualifications
- Excellent knowledge of packaging regulations, EPR and packaging types.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and ability to manage and analyse complex data sets to produce reports.
- Data and commercially driven, with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills experience interacting confidently with senior leadership teams and external consultants.
- Good knowledge of THG's own brand products and complex business structure – preferable.
- Experience using a variety of AI tools to increase efficiency and identify process improvements – preferable.
