About the Role

As an NPD Technologist, you will support both New Product Development (NPD) and Existing Product Development (EPD) across the Performance Nutrition category, including Proteins, Pre‑Workout and Hydration products. Working closely with the wider technical and cross‑functional teams, you will help support new launches, product improvements and reformulation projects across the portfolio. This role is ideal for someone with early industry experience who is passionate about nutrition and food innovation and is looking to broaden their technical understanding across both innovation and product optimisation within a fast‑paced sports nutrition environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and reformulation of performance nutrition products across both NPD and EPD projects.
  • Assist with cost‑saving and continuous improvement initiatives through ingredient, formulation and process optimisation.
  • Support product screening activities to identify opportunities for quality, cost or performance improvements across the existing range.
  • Coordinate and support factory trials, pilot runs and launch activities to ensure projects progress efficiently.
  • Conduct sensory analysis and benchmarking to support product evaluation and decision‑making.
  • Work collaboratively with procurement, compliance, supply chain and marketing teams throughout the development process.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, specifications and project updates.
  • Build relationships with suppliers to support ingredient evaluations and innovation opportunities.
  • Support product sign‑off activities, ensuring products meet required quality, sensory and commercial standards.
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities with support from senior team members.

Requirements

  • Degree in Nutrition, Food Science, Food Technology or a Sports Science.
  • 1‑3 years' experience within a product development or food manufacturing environment.
  • Interest in both innovation and continuous product improvement.
  • Good organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop technical knowledge.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills.
  • Basic understanding of food manufacturing, formulations and product development processes.
  • Commercial awareness with an interest in consumer trends and the sports nutrition industry.
  • Passion for nutrition, health and fitness.
