Overview
We\’re looking for a very smart, enthusiastic and proactive individual who is flexible, adaptable and able to use their own initiative as part of the Merchandising and Buying team. This role combines responsibility and autonomy; the right person for the job is valued over the job title. This is an opportunity to further a career in the beauty industry within the merchandising function. Reporting to the Head of Merchandising, you will be responsible for stock and intake strategy, planning and management of stock profile in support of business KPIs through effective trading and driving the department in conjunction with buying and trading.
Responsibilities
- Confidently lead your category and drive department strategy alongside the Buyer, maximising profit through trading and effective stock management.
- Review KPIs regularly to ensure that the YTG plans are realistic, highlighting changes to both team and management.
- Review daily and weekly sales performance and complete replenishment actions.
- Be responsible for numerous high profile brand accounts; maintain strong supplier relationships and communication.
- Build cohesive lessons learnt with the buyer whilst reflecting future trends, preparing reporting for weekly and/or monthly meetings.
- Review daily and weekly sales performance and recommend replenishment actions where required.
- Sign off weekly replenishment order quantities in accordance with OTB and ensure availability targets are met whilst adhering to planned departmental target covers.
- Accurately forecast new product launches to achieve optimum profit, balanced with sell-through whilst maintaining high product availability.
- Manage order placement and intake to ensure on-time product launches and product lead times are adhered to.
- Manage effective stock management with a focus on hitting departmental availability targets. Manage fast and slow moving stock and make recommendations to move it through the business in the most profitable route possible.
- Build a strong cross-functional network within the business, particularly Buying & Trading.
- Manage the team and deputise for the Merchandiser or Senior in their absence.
Qualifications / Experience
- You are a current JM or Senior AM.
- Experience of managing multiple brands at the same time.
- Management experience and strong ability to work as part of a team.
- Commercial awareness.
- An excellent communicator both internally and externally.
- Organised, self-motivated and a key team player.
- Excellent time keeping to ensure deadlines are met.
- Attention to detail.
- Uses initiative to solve problems.
- Flexible in order to meet the needs of a fast paced trading environment.
- Strong IT skills – Excel proficiency.
