About the Role

The Site Manager is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and performance of the THG Blackpool manufacturing site, which produces tablets and capsules with a headcount of approximately 30 employees across 2 shifts (M-F). This role focuses on stabilising and improving site performance, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations, while building capability across the team. The Site Manager will operate as an approachable leader, working closely with the shop floor to deliver production targets and embed improved ways of working.

As a Site Manager in Blackpool you will:

Take responsibility for delivering site performance across safety, quality, cost, delivery, and people metrics. Act as a visible leader, actively engaging with the shop floor and wider team. Ensure effective deployment of labour, materials, and equipment to meet output requirements. Drive performance against site KPIs (e.g. output, efficiency, waste, labour utilisation).
  • Health, Safety & Compliance: Lead all Health & Safety activities on site, always ensuring a safe working environment. Ensure adherence to GMP and company compliance standards, maintaining audit readiness. Support internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of actions. Promote a strong, practical safety culture through daily behaviours and engagement.
  • Quality & Technical Alignment: Work closely with the Group Technical function. Ensure all manufacturing activities meet required quality standards and specifications. Support RCA’s, CAPA’s, and quality improvements at site level. Drive improvements in right-first-time and reduction in waste and rework.
  • People Leadership & Development: Lead, coach, and support the site leadership team (Shift Managers, Site Engineer, Business Support Manager). Build capability across the workforce through training, coaching, and structured performance management. Set clear expectations and accountabilities for all team members. Foster a positive, engaged, and accountable site culture.
  • Engineering & Asset Performance: Partner with the Site Engineer to ensure equipment is reliable and fit for purpose. Support delivery of preventative maintenance and asset care routines. Identify and implement improvements to reduce downtime and improve performance. Assist with small-scale capital and improvement projects.
  • Cost Control & Site Efficiency: Support management of site costs including labour, materials, and overheads. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce waste. Ensure cost improvements do not compromise safety, quality, or compliance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement practical, site level improvement initiatives to stabilise and enhance performance. Embed a culture of continuous improvement within the team. Work with central Production Performance teams to support group initiatives where appropriate. Focus on improving key areas such as efficiency, waste reduction, and process consistency.
  • Stakeholder Management & Reporting: Provide clear and consistent reporting on site performance to the Production Director. Highlight risks, issues, and improvement opportunities in a timely manner. Collaborate effectively with Group functions to ensure alignment and support.
