Senior Project Manager / Contracts Manager – Groundworks & Civil Engineering * Location: London & Home Counties * Day Rate: £400 – £600 a day / £100,000 – £135,000 My client are a Premier groundworks and civil engineering contractor, delivering both minor and multi‑million‑pound groundwork projects across the UK. Their portfolio spans bulk earthworks, site remediation, enabling works, substructures, reinforced concrete, drainage, and service installations. They are now looking to hire an experienced Senior Project Manager (Groundworks) with the ambition to step into a Contracts Manager role. You will take charge of a £15 million+ groundwork projects, This role demands a sharp focus on safety, schedule, quality, and budget control. Key Responsibilities: * Lead bulk earthworks, enabling works, substructures and drainage/service installation * Oversee full delivery lifecycle—programming, resourcing, subcontractor coordination, and reporting * Engage regularly with clients, internal teams, and stakeholders * Champion HSEQ compliance and efficient QA/QC processes Ideal Candidate Profile * 5–10+ years as Project Manager on £15m+ groundworks/civil engineering contracts * Experience across all groundwork stages: earthworks, drainage, substructures, and external civils. * Proven ability to manage large site teams * Recognised qualifications: SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid (or equivalent) * Strong leadership, stakeholder communication, and commercial acumen
