About The Role:
As the People Business Partner – Fulfilment Operations, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the day-to-day and strategic HR agenda across our UK fulfilment sites, with a primary focus on Warrington/Manchester. Reporting to the Head of People – UK Operations, you will work closely with local operational leaders to ensure our people practices are effective, consistent, and aligned with our business goals. You will lead on both strategic initiatives and core HR activity, acting as the go-to partner for all site-level people matters. This role also includes line management responsibility for the People Advisor based in Warrington/Manchester.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a trusted advisor to site leadership teams on all HR matters including performance management, employee engagement, ER issues, and organisational development.
- Lead the delivery of the people plan at site level, ensuring alignment with the broader fulfilment and business strategy.
- Oversee all employee relations activity, ensuring consistency, fairness, and compliance with employment law and company policy.
- Provide coaching and support to managers to drive capability, leadership development, and effective people management.
- Manage the full employee lifecycle in partnership with the People Advisor – from onboarding and induction to exit processes.
- Drive continuous improvement in people processes, systems, and ways of working to support an efficient and high-performing operation.
- Collaborate with Talent, L&D, and HRSS teams to ensure fulfilment-specific needs are met.
- Support and lead site-level change management projects, including restructures and new initiatives.
- Analyse people data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and take appropriate action to address them.
- Ensure effective communication and employee engagement initiatives are embedded across the sites.
- Develop and mentor the People Advisor to build capability and ensure a strong level of operational HR support.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Solid HR generalist experience, ideally in a fulfilment, logistics, manufacturing, or fast-paced operational environment.
- Strong working knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practices.
- Proven ability to manage employee relations cases end-to-end with minimal supervision.
- Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to influence and coach managers at all levels.
- Data-driven with experience using HR metrics to inform decisions and drive improvements.
- Experience managing or mentoring junior HR team members.
- Resilient, adaptable, and able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-moving environment.
- Willingness to travel between Warrington and Manchester sites as required.
Desirable Qualifications:
- CIPD Level 5 (or working towards) or equivalent qualification.
- Experience in an e-commerce or high-growth business environment.
- Experience with HR technology platforms (e.g., ADP, Workday, SAP etc.).
