Join our medical interpreting pool! We are seeking face-to-face freelance interpreters in North Kent and Medway to support clinical consultations at Medway NHS Foundation Trust and Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust.
We are specifically looking for professionals who interpret in Tamil, Punjabi, or Lithuanian to support patient care.
What You Will Do- Provide on-site F2F interpreting for patients and medical staff across pediatric, outpatient, maternity, and emergency departments.
- Translate medical terms, diagnoses, and treatment plans accurately and with high empathy.
- Comply with NHS Trust safety, hygiene, and confidentiality protocols.
- Professional qualification in interpreting (e.g., DPI, DPSI Health, or Community Interpreting Level 3 or 4) desirable but not essential.
- Fluency in English and either Tamil, Punjabi, or Lithuanian.
- Based in or within easy driving distance of Dartford (DA2) or Gillingham (ME7).
- Up-to-date Enhanced DBS certificate check.
