Job description
THG Fluently is urgently expanding its network of freelance on-demand telephone interpreters for a newly launched international client account.
We are particularly keen to hear from German interpreters as an immediate priority, while also actively recruiting interpreters working between English and:
French, Spanish, Polish, Portuguese, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Canadian French, Japanese and Mandarin Chinese.
The opportunity
Successful applicants will provide on-demand telephone interpreting for service desk and general business-support conversations.
Calls are expected to involve areas such as:
- Service desk and user-support queries
- General business communication
- Basic user or contact information where relevant
Interpreters will act as impartial language facilitators, accurately conveying communication between call participants. You will not be expected to provide technical, legal, engineering, medical, financial or other specialist advice.
This is an on-demand service, meaning calls may be offered at short notice when interpreting support is required.
Who we're looking for
We would like to hear from freelance interpreters who:
- Have professional interpreting experience
- Have an excellent command of English and their other working language
- Are confident providing consecutive interpretation by telephone
- Can communicate accurately, clearly and impartially
- Are comfortable receiving on-demand interpreting calls
- Have a reliable internet connection and an appropriate environment for professional remote interpreting
Location
This is a fully remote freelance opportunity, and applications are welcome from suitably qualified interpreters based internationally, subject to applicable geographical and compliance restrictions.
