About the Role
This is a hands‑on, varied position supporting a busy marquee hire and sales business. You’ll be involved in everything from preparing equipment and loading vans to setting up marquees on‑site and communicating with clients. The role suits someone practical, reliable, and comfortable taking responsibility for both warehouse organisation and customer‑facing tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Marquee Setup & On‑Site Work
- Assist with erecting and dismantling marquees at client locations
- Load and unload vans safely and efficiently
- Ensure all equipment is handled correctly and maintained to a high standard
- Cleaning & Equipment Maintenance
- Clean, dry, and pack marquee covers, linings, flooring, and accessories
- Inspect equipment for damage and report issues promptly
- Maintain a tidy, organised warehouse environment
- Warehouse & Dispatch
- Prepare orders for delivery or collection
- Pick, pack, and check equipment lists
- Keep stock areas clean, safe, and well organised
- Customer Communication
- Handle enquiries by phone and email
- Confirm bookings, answer questions, and provide excellent customer service
- Represent the company professionally on‑site and in the warehouse
- Driving
- Drive the company van to deliver and collect equipment
- Follow safe driving practices and maintain vehicle cleanliness
Requirements
- Full clean UK driving licence
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
- Good communication skills and a positive, professional attitude
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
- willing to work extra weekdays or weekends occasionally and longer days during peak season
