The Role

We are seeking an exceptional and inspirational leader to join The Tynings Primary School as Deputy Headteacher. This is a unique opportunity to be at the heart of our school's journey of continuous improvement. Working in close partnership with the Headteacher, leaders, and governors, you will play a key role in shaping the future of The Tynings Primary. Your leadership will directly influence inclusion and assessment, ensuring that every child thrives academically, emotionally, and socially. We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic leader who leads by example, with a deep moral purpose and a commitment to educational beauty and excellence.

Visits to the school are encouraged, particularly on Monday 2nd February at 4pm, or Wednesday 4th February at 2.15pm (other dates and times can be arranged). Please contact the school office to arrange a visit.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be an outstanding classroom practitioner, passionate about delivering high-quality learning experiences that raise standards and outcomes.
  • Be a visible and approachable leader with strong management, organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Have a proven track record of effective leadership, with the ability to motivate, inspire, and develop staff.
  • Have excellent subject knowledge and understanding of the curriculum, including the ability to lead maths.
  • Hold high expectations for all children, both academically and socially.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to further develop practice and embed a reflective, self-improving culture.
  • Build strong relationships with learners, families, staff, and the wider community.
  • Work with the inclusion team to give the best start to life for children with SEN and/or disadvantage.
  • Have a real desire to be a part of a hardworking, supportive, and creative team.

Fluency Duty

This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to converse at ease with pupils, parents, and other users and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
