Murphy is recruiting for a Site Engineer to join our growing Infrastructure team, delivering water infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects in partnership with Thames Water, as part of the AMP8 framework.
A day in the life of a Murphy Site Engineer includes:
- Checking Inspection Test Plans
- Undertaking setting out and sample checking of the sub-contracted site engineers, reviewing and agreeing on a method to carry out consistently.
- Checking Installation on site is correct according to specifications.
- Assisting the Design Team with identifying setting out requirements on projects.
- Reviewing the Design Information prior to works commencing.
- Ensuring that correct Quality Control is adhered to.
- Resolving technical problems at all levels.
- Ensuring activities are carried out in a safe manner in accordance with the Project Safety Plan.
- Ensuring equipment is calibrated, in date and suitable checked in accordance with company policies and the manufacturers' defined requirements.
- Ensuring construction operations are carried out in accordance with the Contract requirements using the appropriate agreed procedures.
- Ensuring all site personnel have clear, accurate and appropriate information to carry out their duties.
- Minimising environmental disturbance during construction works.
- Supervising the outputs and confirming that the project environmental requirements are met.
- Close liaison with the Project Team.
- Ensuring that only the latest issue drawings and documents are being used.
- Assisting the Site Management team to update KPIs, material reconciliation and progress reports.
Engineering Duties:

Requirements:
- Engineering qualification from a reputable firm
- IT Skills: Microsoft Office, Excel and Word proficiency
- Able to articulate engineering concepts verbally to stakeholders and in written communication
- Previous experience as an engineer on a civil engineering project
- Driver’s license
- Safety training IOSH and/or SSSTS or SMSTS
- Relevant tickets for site-based work
