The SU is continually seeking enthusiastic, experienced photographers to join the Students’ Union Marketing Team. The role will involve creating a photography portfolio and producing video content. Photographers will capture social events, group events, election periods, sporting events and profile photography. Short video clips will be gathered using a camera or phone to support the marketing team with content.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain the SU photography portfolio.
  • Create and edit video content for marketing purposes.
  • Photograph social events, group events, election periods and sporting events.
  • Produce profile photography as required.
  • Meet project deadlines and work creatively, confidently and reliably.

Requirements

  • Experience as a photographer (experience in a specific area such as sports is an advantage).
  • Own photography and video equipment and have the right business insurance.
  • Creative, confident and reliable with the ability to work to deadlines.
  • Competent in using both cameras and phones for photography and video capture.

Salary

Hourly rate of £13.45 plus holiday pay.

Hours

The role does not have a standard number of hours per week and will vary throughout the year. Busy periods such as Freshers’ Week will require more time, while there may be long periods where no work is needed.
