Venue Supervisor – Plug & Tub
The Students’ Union Bars & Events team is looking for dedicated and confident individuals to join our award‑winning venues as Plug & Tub Venue Supervisors. This role offers flexible on‑campus work while giving you real responsibility in a fast‑paced hospitality environment.
About the role
As a Venue Supervisor you will be the senior staff member on duty, responsible for running the bar independently in the absence of Managers. Your duties include overseeing service, supporting staff, maintaining safety and welfare standards, handling customer issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of the Bar and Kitchen throughout your shift.
Working hours
During Freshers’ Week you must cover a minimum of four shifts. During term time you must cover a minimum of two shifts per week. Each shift lasts 4–6 hours. You must be available to work weekends and occasional weekday evenings.
Training & Interviews
Interviews will be held mid/late August (in‑person or online). Successful candidates will attend in‑person training during the week commencing 9 September 2026.
Pay
£13.86 per hour + holiday pay, equivalent to £15.53 per hour.
Requirements
- Proactive, calm under pressure, and able to act as a brand ambassador for the SU Bars.
- Experience or strong communication, customer service and leadership skills.
- Available for the required shift schedule.
- Attending the training session on 9 September.
