ABOUT US
Founded in 2015, TSZ Content is a small dynamic company based in Altrincham, with expertise in the application of data science and analysis to sport. We focus primarily on betting-focused predictions for a variety of sports. We are on the lookout for experts in specific sports who can provide our readers with informed analysis.
ROLE
The core focus of the position will be to research, write and publish weekly fight prediction articles for all UFC events taking place throughout the year. An understanding of betting terms and relevant markets is integral to the content we produce. You will be expected to write an in-depth prediction article for every fight taking place on both the main and undercard of UFC events. Background research into the fighters being written about is necessary for ensuring that content is well-informed, accurate and up-to-date. We are based in Altrincham, Greater Manchester and while there will be the opportunity to work in our office throughout the week, home-based applicants will also be considered. The role is suitable for freelancers. The successful applicant will report to our Sports Content Manager, who will be responsible for setting the weekly workload.
ABOUT YOU
Naturally, a strong knowledge and passion for both men’s and women’s MMA is essential for this role. We aren’t looking for an individual with a passive interest in the sport, but rather someone who follows it all-year round and is capable of transferring that enthusiasm to the content they produce. You should be capable of producing high-quality written articles whilst maintaining accuracy in grammar, punctuation and syntax. You will often need to work unsupervised, so attention to detail is paramount when self-proofing. We value the qualities offered by self-starters. You will be highly-organised, motivated to work and set targets independently, and be comfortable with meeting regular deadlines. This isn’t an absolute requirement, but if you have developed a social media presence/following for sports journalism, or MMA specifically, then this would be advantageous.
THE DETAILS
This is a part-time freelancer role on a contractor basis. You are responsible for declaring what you earn to the relevant authorities. Fees are on a per article rate, and will be agreed in advance of any work undertaken. Fees are paid promptly on a monthly basis.
- Role: Part-time contractor
- Location: Altrincham, Greater Manchester / Home-based
- Requirements: You provide all the necessary equipment to fulfil the duties
- Hours: Flexible / project-based
HOW TO APPLY
We need a CV from you please. We don’t need a long cover letter – just scribble an email explaining the motivation behind your application and sell yourself to us. If you are able to direct us towards relevant examples of your published work, please do so. Prospective applicants should be prepared to conduct a short exercise as part of the application process. More details will be provided after the initial recruitment stage. Please only apply if you are willing to spend the time and energy to do the exercise! Send your application by Friday, July 11. Given the vast number of applicants we have received from similar jobs posted, we will only reply to those who we will invite to the next stage of the process. If you have not heard from us by the end of that week, you can assume we will not be taking your application further. Thanks for your understanding.
