Responsibilities
- Research and investigate local and community-based issues, events, and trends.
- Conduct interviews with citizens, activists, policymakers, and local changemakers.
- Write well-researched articles, features, and reports adhering to journalistic integrity and factual accuracy.
- Collaborate with editors for feedback, mentoring, and editorial refinement.
- Uphold journalistic ethics, neutrality, and accuracy in all work.
- Submit articles on deadline and maintain clear communication with the editorial team.
- (Optional) Contribute multimedia content such as photographs, short videos, or audio snippets.
- Stay informed about regional developments, civic matters, and public policy.
- Promote civic engagement and social awareness through storytelling.
Qualifications
- Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, English, Political Science, or related disciplines.
- Strong writing and verbal communication skills.
- Solid research ability and curiosity about local/community issues.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Comfortable using Google Docs, email, and CMS tools.
- Experience in multimedia reporting or grassroots journalism is an added advantage.
- Previous journalistic experience is appreciated but not mandatory—dedication and willingness to learn matter most.
