The Roof Gardens is a social club in the sky, 100 feet above the streets of Kensington. Close to an acre of private gardens with views across London to the horizon, The Roof Gardens is a new generation members club. A place of escape, bursting with wildflowers, olive and mulberry trees, grassy lawns and hidden nooks. An Art Deco gem created in 1938, The Roof Gardens has a legendary legacy. The Roof Gardens’ community is united by open-mindedness, optimism and kindness, not defined by background.
We’re seeking a confident and charismatic Sommelier to join the vibrant front of house team at The Roof Gardens. As a warm and professional presence, you’ll become a familiar face to our members, ensuring their experience is seamless, welcoming, and memorable from beginning to end.
Key Responsibilities:
- Minimum 1 years’ experience as a Sommelier in the luxury hospitality market
- WSET qualification or equivalent industry certification
- Ensure daily wine service operations are carried out including stock management, table service, cleaning, and opening and closing duties
- Provide personalised wine recommendations to members and guests to elevate their dining experience
- Greet and engage members and guests warmly, creating a memorable first impression
- Maintain a deep passion for wine coupled with the desire to continue expanding your knowledge
- Support the Head Sommelier in curating and managing a wine list that reflects The Roof Gardens’ commitment to excellence
- Assist in designing and delivering wine training programmes for F&B, FOH, and Events teams to enhance product knowledge and drive sales
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends
