This role will be responsible for implementing day-to-day goods receiving functions, so you’ll be involved with every department in the business but most regularly with the F&B departments. You will need to have a forensic attention to detail and be able to build rapport with those delivering goods to our business so you can manage relationships, handle difficult situations as they arise, and make sure they comply with our strict delivery windows so as not to upset our neighbours!

  • Liaise with porters and the wider building management teams to move goods as they arrive on site.
  • Be part of the F&B team that delivers a 5 star rating food hygiene rating across all departments.

Quality Control

  • Maintain inventories, flagging over or under ordering as it occurs and ensure a FIFO system is in place and being followed.
  • Weigh fresh foods as they arrive to ensure accurate fulfilment of orders from our food suppliers e.g. spot checks on weight of a Dover Sole, for example.
  • Record temperatures on high risk food items and keeping appropriate records and tags.
  • Work with the Stock Control team to establish quality control and ensure that bought stock meets company standards.

Compliance

  • To maintain the areas for which you are responsible to the highest standards of cleanliness and to ensure that they are in an orderly manner.
  • Implement and carry out appropriate health and food safety measures to remain business compliant at all times when receiving goods into the business.
  • Knowledge and understanding of all standard procedures and policies pertaining to food preparation, receiving, storage, COSHH, HACCP, fire regulations and food safety legislation.
  • Ensure 3rd parties comply with our company policies and procedures, in particular Health Safety, fire regulations, HACCP and licence operating requirements.
  • Ensure full adherence to the Premises licence operating requirements which always require compliance.

This job description reflects the present requirements of the post and should not be seen as an exhaustive list of responsibilities. Duties and responsibilities may develop and change in consultation with line management.
