The Roof Gardens is a social club in the sky, 100 feet above the streets of Kensington. Close to an acre of private gardens with views across London to the horizon, The Roof Gardens is a new generation members club. A place of escape, bursting with wildflowers, olive and mulberry trees, grassy lawns and hidden nooks. An Art Deco gem created in 1938, The Roof Gardens has a legendary legacy. The Roof Gardens’ community is united by open-mindedness, optimism and kindness, not defined by background.
We are looking for an experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager to join The Roof Gardens and one of our five restaurants. This is a unique opportunity to be involved in multiple dining concepts and as a pivotal member of our senior front of house team, you will be helping to build your team, put processes and operations in place to ensure first class service, whilst becoming a familiar and friendly face for our members.
Key Responsibilities
- Service Standards: Enhance customer experience by inspiring and guiding the team to adhere to set service standards.
- Financial Support: Assist with financial tasks such as handling daily receipts, managing cash flow, and overseeing point-of-sale systems. Contribute to financial reporting by providing accurate data and observations.
- Team Supervision: Inspire and guide restaurant team during shifts, providing immediate oversight and direction. Address team issues on the floor and provide real-time solutions.
- Team Development: Manage team scheduling, ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts. Assist in training new team members with creative and engaging programs, along with on-going training for existing teams.
- Exceptional Service: Be the primary point of contact for member feedback, handling any queries immediately to enhance overall dining experience.
- Inventory Management: Oversee the day-to-day inventory needs, ensuring stock levels are maintained and orders are placed timely. Conduct regular inventory audits in coordination with stock controller.
- Maintenance & Upkeep: Oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of the restaurant, ensuring compliance with health & safety standards. Co-ordinate with cleaning staff and vendors for regular maintenance and urgent repairs.
- Administrative Assistance: Perform administrative tasks such as record keeping, scheduling meetings, and managing staff files. Assist in payroll preparation and staff documentation.
