Day‑to‑day excellence for operations and service levels

Your core task as Cold Store Supervisor is the effective day‑to‑day supervision of warehousing in accordance with company procedures, including the health, safety and welfare of employees and visitors.

In doing so, you ensure that the ongoing standards of work, procedures and service are maintained at the levels required by Thermotraffic and its customers.

Your ultimate objective is an absence of errors and omissions across all activities.

In order to achieve this, you

  • Supervise the day‑to‑day activities of the Cold Store Operation, meeting the priorities set by the Site and Operations Managers and eliminating backlogs of work or vehicle delays;
  • Ensure daily, weekly and monthly checks, including those required for the site HACCP plan, are completed in full and on time;
  • Plan and manage labour resources, including holidays and absence;
  • Ensure safe and efficient storage and warehouse space management;
  • Report any problems and non‑conformances to the Site and Operations Managers and work to resolve these;
  • Maintain a proactive dialogue with Stock Controllers to ensure clear communication at all times;
  • When required, deputise for the Operations Manager, supporting broader operational decision‑making and ensuring continuity of service.
  • Working hours & flexibility
  • This role is a mid‑shift supervisor position, with standard working hours of 10:00 – 18:30.

However, flexibility is essential.

You may be required to work outside of these hours to support late‑arriving lorries, which can involve staying later to assist with unloading.

During busy periods, shifts may vary.

  • Overtime forms part of the role.

In addition, weekend cover is shared with other supervisors, which includes approximately 4 hours on a Saturday morning for a fixed weekly order.
