Purpose of the Role

The Health & Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies within the organisation. The role ensures a safe working environment, promotes a strong safety culture, and guarantees compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Policies & Procedures
    • Develop and implement HSE policies and procedures in line with applicable legislation and regulations, in collaboration with the (Q)HSE Manager.
    • Ensure compliance with internal standards and external HSE requirements.
  • Risk Assessment
    • Conduct risk assessments and identify potential workplace hazards.
    • Develop and implement effective risk control measures and mitigation strategies.
  • Training & Awareness
    • Organise and deliver HSE training sessions and toolbox talks.
    • Promote awareness and engagement in HSE culture throughout the organisation.
  • Audits & Inspections
    • Perform internal audits and workplace inspections to ensure compliance.
    • Report findings and provide actionable recommendations to the (Q)HSE Manager.
  • Incident Management
    • Investigate accidents and incidents, document findings, and recommend corrective actions.
    • Maintain incident records and provide regular reports to management.
  • Communication
    • Act as the main point of contact for HSE-related matters.
    • Communicate HSE updates, policies, and best practices across the organisation.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in HSE performance and processes.
    • Support the development of a proactive and positive safety culture.

Job Requirements

  • NEBOSH certification (required)
  • Relevant qualification in Health & Safety or related field
