Purpose of the Role
The Health & Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies within the organisation. The role ensures a safe working environment, promotes a strong safety culture, and guarantees compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Policies & Procedures
- Develop and implement HSE policies and procedures in line with applicable legislation and regulations, in collaboration with the (Q)HSE Manager.
- Ensure compliance with internal standards and external HSE requirements.
- Risk Assessment
- Conduct risk assessments and identify potential workplace hazards.
- Develop and implement effective risk control measures and mitigation strategies.
- Training & Awareness
- Organise and deliver HSE training sessions and toolbox talks.
- Promote awareness and engagement in HSE culture throughout the organisation.
- Audits & Inspections
- Perform internal audits and workplace inspections to ensure compliance.
- Report findings and provide actionable recommendations to the (Q)HSE Manager.
- Incident Management
- Investigate accidents and incidents, document findings, and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain incident records and provide regular reports to management.
- Communication
- Act as the main point of contact for HSE-related matters.
- Communicate HSE updates, policies, and best practices across the organisation.
- Continuous Improvement
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in HSE performance and processes.
- Support the development of a proactive and positive safety culture.

- NEBOSH certification (required)
