Our UK operations are centered on our large, technologically advanced cold store sites at Brierley Hill, Braintree, Lympne, Wrexham, Bury St Edmunds and Newark.

A large and international structure: Thermotraffic is a 100% subsidiary of the Nichirei Corporation. Our objective is to offer a seamless, end-to-end multi-temperature warehousing and logistics chain. In doing so we provide services to importers, manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers and distributors. You will therefore be working within a substantial and proven organization that offers all the resources necessary to do your job to the best of your ability.
As Maintenance Manager at Thermotraffic your core task is to coordinate, supervise and direct Engineers to ensure the maximum effectiveness and utilisation of our UK Plant and Engineering resource. In doing so you apply a proactive approach to the prevention of equipment failure through Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), responding rapidly to any breakdowns. Teamwork is central and you act as an integral part of the Manufacturing team to ensure that all quality, waste and efficiency targets are met.
On a day-to-day basis you perform all the active oversight and administration that enable you to:
- Ensure compliance with Company policies, procedures and regulations (e.g. attendance, quality, safety, GMPs, etc.) and ensure these are followed to maintain the required standards (e.g. Health & Safety, Food Safety, PPE etc.);
- Efficiently manage and facilitate teams to resolve mechanical and/or electrical problems in a timely fashion;
- Identify and analyse problems together with teams before crises and determine appropriate action and follow-up;
- Oversee on-site contractors;
- Ensure compliance of the Permit to Work system by all employees/contractors.
You report to the Head of Engineering and deputise for him as required. Although based at Brierley Hill, the nature of your role demands that you travel to all the other sites on a regular basis.

The more formal requirements are:
- Bias Electrical, and/or mechanical qualifications/time served apprenticeship. Level 3 minimum;
- Previous (automated) industry experience is highly desirable;
- Solid IT skills, with familiarity with computerised planned maintenance systems management essential;
- The data and analytical skills necessary to perform effective troubleshooting;
- Knowledge of temperature control and refrigeration systems;
- Basic Food Hygiene and Health & Safety knowledge;
- A good standard of both written and oral English.
