THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to the Director, Procurement Partner – BCD, you’ll provide strategic and operational procurement leadership in direct support of manufacturing.
You’ll have oversight of material procurement across both direct and indirect spend, while leading and developing a team based in Paisley.
You’ll have three direct reports, with a further four colleagues sitting within the wider team structure under a Supervisor.
Alongside delivering for the site today, you’ll help us think bigger about tomorrow.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
You’ll combine people leadership, strategic sourcing and hands‑on manufacturing support, with responsibilities including:
- Leading and developing the site procurement team, coaching colleagues and building capability for the future.
- Providing direct procurement support to manufacturing operations and ensuring alignment between procurement priorities and operational requirements.
- Overseeing direct and indirect material procurement and supporting continuity of supply.
- Developing and executing multi-year sourcing and category strategies that improve total cost of ownership and deliver sustainable value.
- Building strong supplier partnerships while driving performance, quality, resilience and risk mitigation.
- Leading complex negotiations and developing commercial agreements that support business objectives.
- Partnering closely with manufacturing, operations, finance and other functions to solve problems and identify opportunities.
- Using spend analytics, market intelligence and procurement technology to inform sourcing decisions.
- Identifying opportunities to move beyond individual site requirements and create value through a broader network approach.
- Leading complex cross‑functional initiatives and driving continuous improvement across procurement processes and supplier relationships.
- Supporting financial planning and forecasting through strong commercial understanding and awareness of P&L impact.
REQUIREMENTS
- Advanced degree plus 6 years of experience, or Bachelor's degree plus 8 years of experience in procurement/sourcing in large matrix organizations with increasing global responsibility
- Preferred Fields of Study: Business, Engineering, Supply Chain or related technical field
- Professional certifications preferred (CPSM, CPIM, PMP or equivalent)
- 7+ years category management or operational sourcing experience
- 3+ years people management experience leading procurement teams, including coaching and development
- Proven ability to develop and execute multi-year category strategies to reduce total cost of ownership
- Excellence in stakeholder management and ability to collaborate across functions
- Strong negotiation, analytical and presentation skills with executive-level communication abilities
- Experience working in regulated industries (life sciences, pharmaceutical, medical device preferred)
- Expertise in supplier relationship management, contract development and risk mitigation
- Proficiency with e Sourcing tools, spend analytics and procurement systems
- Project management skills with ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives
- Ability to adapt and make decisions with incomplete information
- Strong business acumen and understanding of P&L, financial planning and forecasting
- Travel required 10-20%
- International/multi-cultural work experience preferred
