Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards, Laboratory Setting, some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (e.g., safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs, etc.). Reporting to the Primary Manufacturing Manager, the Team Leader will be responsible for the team manufacturing and testing a broad range of intermediates used in Dartford products. The focus is on delivering product right the first time based on customer needs while maintaining safety and quality performance at all times. This is achieved by running a flexible, multi‑disciplined team and developing manufacturing processes through continuous improvement tools to deliver product effectively and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Drive a safety culture, lead by example, and build and maintain a safe work environment with a high level of safety awareness among team members.
- Be a role model leader and demonstrate behaviours in line with the 4I values, operations, and leadership competencies.
- Accountability for the planning and resourcing to deliver against planned schedule adherence.
- Drive high quality standards to enable the team to achieve site RFT targets for paperwork and process.
- Accurate recording of data through the Tier board process, root cause any under‑performing metrics and put in place effective countermeasures.
- Provide leadership to achieve continuous improvement in safety, quality and delivery.
- Empower employees to take ownership of their jobs and goals; drive engagement throughout your team. Delegate responsibility and expect accountability and regular feedback.
- Lead employees using the PMD process to provide goal setting, feedback, and performance development planning.
- Collaborate with internal customers to ensure efficient product realisation, robust problem solving and champion effective partnership throughout the factory.
- Deputise for the department manager in their absence.
- Manage your team on Workday, including holiday approval, PMD‑related tasks and the timely input of absence, including documentation from the return‑to‑work meeting.
- Further duties and responsibilities as required by the business and within the capabilities of the post holder.
Qualifications
- Educated to degree level in a scientific field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong understanding of the demands of a manufacturing environment.
- Proven leadership skills.
- Demonstrated track record of safety and quality improvements within your current role.
