You'll perform sophisticated analyses to ensure product quality and safety in our laboratories.
As a QC Scientist II, you’ll conduct complex analytical testing to support the analysis of raw materials and other production samples using approved analytical methods.
You’ll assist in quality investigations of manufactured products and incoming raw materials for the QC laboratory in accordance with Thermo Fisher procedures.
You’ll work with analytical instruments and technologies while making a meaningful impact on patient health through precise quality control testing.
Working with cross‑functional teams, you’ll execute validated test methods, participate in method development and validation activities, investigate out‑of‑specification results, and maintain detailed documentation of analyses.
You’ll contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and help establish robust analytical processes while adhering to GLP requirements and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Conduct complex analytical testing on raw materials and production samples using approved analytical methods.
- Assist in quality investigations of manufactured products and incoming raw materials for the QC laboratory in accordance with Thermo Fisher procedures.
- Execute validated test methods, participate in method development and validation activities, investigate out‑of‑specification results, and maintain detailed documentation of analyses.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and help establish robust analytical processes while adhering to GLP requirements and safety standards.
- Calibrate and maintain analytical instrumentation, reporting defects and repairs as advised.
- Analyze materials with accuracy and precision in line with approved analytical test methods while meeting department target times.
- Work safely, adhering to company EHS policies and wearing prescribed personal protective equipment.
- Maintain 6S housekeeping standards, keeping work areas clean, tidy, and safe.
Essential Qualifications
- Advanced degree or Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of experience in a GLP regulated laboratory environment performing analytical testing.
- Strong expertise in analytical techniques, including classical wet chemistry methods for the analysis, separation, and quantification of chemical substances.
- Hands‑on experience with auto titrators, colorimetric assays, p H and buffer analysis, nitrogen determination, Karl Fischer titration, FTIR, UV‑Vis Spectrometry, and fluorescence analysis.
- Desired expertise in chromatographic techniques, including GC, HPLC, and LCMS.
- Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and quality management systems.
- Knowledge of data integrity requirements and good documentation practices.
- Strong knowledge of GLP practices and quality control requirements.
- Excellent documentation practices and attention to detail.
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with method validation and transfer activities.
- Experience investigating out‑of‑specification results and authoring technical reports.
- Flexible scheduling, including occasional weekend work.
