What you will do:
- Servicing and repair of tail lift, double deck, VBG, Shutter door equipment.
- Limiting costs of stock used on contract accounts and maximising revenue generation in all areas.
- Optimise and maintain engineer van stock to enhance service delivery to customers.
- Ensure relevant safety checks are carried out on the company van daily.
- Maintain product and customer requirements knowledge to meet ISO9002 standards.
- Liaise with the service centre regarding job start and completion times, downtime and overtime authorisation, cost updates, and customer purchase orders.
- Complete all relevant paperwork and online (PDA) requirements for central control and invoicing.
- Ensure adherence to company procedures in line with company policies, Health & Safety procedures, and ISO9002 standards.
- Prioritise customer service and maintain a first-rate corporate image (self, van, tools, spares).
- Promote and generate business with existing or potential customers.
- Provide technical help or assistance to customers and other personnel as required.
- Undertake company training if required and self-development through attendance on manufacturers' courses and online courses.
- Perform other duties and projects corresponding to the general character of the position.
- Be physically fit to perform required tasks.
- Participate in additional on-call roster, including overtime, working nights and weekends (enhanced payment offered).
What you will bring:
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent, including Maths and English.
- NVQ qualification in hydraulics/electrics (desirable) or equivalent experience working to manufacturer standards.
- Experienced Tail Lift and Commercial Engineer.
- Commercial experience working with electro-mechanical systems, including engines, compressors, and hydraulic equipment.
- Skilled in diagnosing and repairing hydraulic systems.
- Welding certification.
- STE/Weight Test certification.
- Able to work independently in a safe and professional manner, maintaining customer units and company property to the highest standards.
- Clean driving licence.
- IT literate (Microsoft Office), able to use a palmtop computer (with training).
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Methodical and systematic approach to work.
- Attention to detail.
- Commitment to high standards of customer service and professionalism.
