As a Culture Media Specialist (Scientist II) within our Microbiology Division you’ll be working in our R&D Team on the development of culture media and digital microbiology products and workflows for the clinical, industrial and pharmaceutical markets. You’ll work in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and guidance by senior team members/R&D Manager, to ensure work is carried out within schedule.

Responsibilities:
As a member of the Culture Media development team, you will be responsible for the following:
- Supporting the assessment of technologies and workflows, including AI and machine learning, suitable for the development of the business’ Digital Microbiology offering,
- Support and lead aspects of Culture Media development projects, including:
- Planning projects in agreement with internal partners to agreed specifications,
- Compiling vital project design control documentation,
- Proactively seeking solutions to mitigate risks that may impact project work/timelines/budgets,
- Producing and delivering progress reports in accordance with project timescale,
- Conducting stability studies for newly developed products,
- Planning and conducting competitor benchmarking and post-market surveillance studies,
- Interpreting large datasets to make technical decisions, recognizing where support is required,
Minimum Qualifications:
- Microbiology (or another biological science related) degree or significant experience in microbiology laboratory setting,
- Experience with diverse techniques and procedures in microbiology,
- Knowledge of culture media formulation design is preferred but not essential.
