Procurement Contracts Specialist
Location: Inchinnan, Paisley, Scotland, UK (with possibility of flexible working)

You will be a key member of the Legal Function, providing internal legal support on a range of commercial contracts matters. Your day-to-day focus will be on supporting our corporate procurement contracting activities, including conducting reviews and negotiations of vendor contracts using our internal Contract Lifecycle Management system. You will be joining a large, friendly in-house team, with lots of support. You will work closely with other in-house legal professionals across all Thermo Fisher businesses and with the Thermo Fisher Procurement organisation. We pride ourselves on providing excellent training resources and opportunities to all our Contracts Specialists. This is a permanent contract, and the role can be either fully remote or hybrid with the option to be based at our offices near Glasgow Airport (Inchinnan) which are newly refurbished and have an on-site café and gym. Occasional travel within the EMEA region may be required.
What will you do?
- Review, draft and negotiate procurement agreements (primarily master services agreement and software agreements), with appropriate support and supervision.
- Support and lead negotiations with third parties on these agreements in partnership with business partners and procurement colleagues.
- Take an active role in the Team’s contract template standardisation, process improvement and contract automation strategy by participating and providing feedback during certain relevant Team projects.
- Actively partake in Team and other internal training and knowledge sessions.
- Engage closely with procurement colleagues and with other parts of the organisation on the interpretation of agreements in effect or in development.
- Work with other members of the Global Legal team including IP and Data Privacy as needed.
Who we are looking for: experience, skills &abilities
- Holds a law degree in a UK jurisdiction or has some experience in a legal, commercial or contracts-focussed role.
- A candidate interested in improving skills and gaining experience in commercial contracting and contract law.
- Experience in contract negotiation/drafting.
- Commercial awareness and business sense, with ability to navigate the various issues surrounding contracts,technologyand corporate structure.
- Proficiency in English crucial.
