We are looking for a Mobile Gas Engineer to join our growing team of service engineers. You’ll be working alongside our other service engineers across a large number of our commercial clients across Scotland. This is a fully remote role and requires a full UK driving licence. This role will support the effective, efficient, and safe delivery of our client services by attending client sites to conduct planned and reactive maintenance.
Thermatic Technical FM provide complete nationwide coverage, across the full spectrum of Hard FM services to large, commercial clients. Our team of mobile engineers are supported by the account teams at Head Office to provide both reactive breakdown and planned maintenance services to our clients.

Hours & Location of Work:
Main location - this is a fully mobile role covering Scotland. Regular hours of work - Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm - 40 hour working week. Whilst this is our company standard working week, our clients require "out of hours" maintenance so early starts/late finishes & night works are to be expected. On Call - this role includes a 24 hour on call rota on a maximum 1 week in 4 schedule (Friday-Thursday).
Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
Essential:
- Experience within the FM industry supporting commercial properties with reactive and planned maintenance activities
- Gas Safe qualified across all commercial and industrial equipment, applications, and installations: CPA1, CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1, CODNCO1, CIGA1, ICPN1, COMCAT1-5
- Oil Fired Heater (oftec) certification
- LPG certification
- Working knowledge of Building Regulations
- Building Environmental and Electrical Services including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning within the building services industry
- Sound understanding and experience of meeting Health & Safety obligations regarding maintenance activities
- Basic plumbing and building material skills/knowledge
- Asbestos Awareness
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- CSCS card
- IPAF & PASMA
- FGas Cat4
- Part P Electrical certificate
Responsibilities include:
- Undertaking all aspects of domestic and commercial gas installation, commission, fault finding, and maintenance including the service and repair of gas and oil heating systems
- Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance in accordance with Thermatic’s PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) and task schedules as directed by the Help Desk and/or management team
- Providing accurate timesheet information to designated timeframes
- Carrying out basic facilities maintenance tasks as required
- Supporting team members including acting as second-man where required
- Participating in a 24 hour call out rota
- Supporting contract teams with meeting SLAs by attending client premises within the desired timeframe
- Supporting Thermatic with maintaining positive client relationships through on-site interactions with representatives and customers of our clients
- Assisting office-based staff with producing quotations by providing accurate and good quality information and sourcing supplier quotations where extra works are identified
- Producing technical and situational reports as required
- Escalating any major site issues or incidents via the appropriate channel and within acceptable timeframes
