We are looking for a full‑time Air Conditioning Engineer to join our growing team of service engineers. This fully remote role requires a full UK driving licence and works across London and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake all aspects of air conditioning and refrigeration installation, commissioning, and maintenance, including service and repair of VRVs, VRFs, splits, and chillers.
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance in accordance with Thermatic’s PPM and task schedules.
  • Provide accurate timesheet information within designated timeframes.
  • Carry out basic facilities maintenance tasks as required.
  • Support team members, including acting as second‑man where required.
  • Participate in a 24‑hour call‑out rota.
  • Attend team meetings or briefings as required.
  • Support contract teams by meeting SLAs through on‑site attendance.
  • Maintain positive client relationships through on‑site interactions with client representatives and customers.
  • Assist office‑based staff with producing quotations by providing accurate information when extra work is identified.
  • Produce technical and situational reports as required.
  • Escalate major site issues or incidents via the appropriate channel and within acceptable timeframes.
  • Support the training and upskilling of junior service engineers.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

Essential

  • Experience working with a range of AC & refrigeration equipment including VRVs, VRFs, splits, and chillers.
  • FGAS Category 1 certification.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Equipment.
  • Working knowledge of Building Regulations.
  • Experience with building environmental and electrical services (heating, ventilation, AC) within the building services industry.
  • Sound understanding of Health & Safety obligations regarding maintenance activities.
  • Basic plumbing and building material skills/knowledge.
  • Asbestos Awareness.

Desirable

  • IPAF & PASMA accreditation.
  • Part P electrical certificate.

Hours & Location of Work

Fully mobile across London and surrounding area. Regular hours Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm (40‑hour week). Early starts, late finishes, and night work may be required for out‑of‑hours maintenance. On‑call: 24‑hour rota with a maximum 1‑in‑4 schedule (Friday‑Thursday).
