We are looking for a People & Culture Advisor to join the People & Culture team at Thermatic Technical FM on a fixed term contract until November 2026. This role is crucial for delivery of progressive, people-first initiatives across our head office and Drainage workforces by providing expert advice and operational HR support with a strong focus on culture, technology, and continuous improvement to create an inclusive, values-led environment where employees can thrive.

This role will require some travel to our Deeside location to support the face-to-face engagement and visible leadership with our Drainage division. Thermatic Technical FM provide complete nationwide coverage, across the full spectrum of Hard FM services to large, commercial clients. Our team of mobile engineers are supported by the account teams at Head Office to provide both reactive breakdown and planned maintenance services to our clients.

Hours & Location of Work:

37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday. Based in our Head Office in Salford, Manchester with up to 1 day per week in our Deeside office. Flexibility with start and finish times and opportunities to work remotely available.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Experienced HR generalist with time spent in a People & Culture Advisor role.
  • CIPD Level 5 (desirable)
  • Experience supporting remote, technical, or operational workforces, ideally within a FM, engineering, or construction setting.
  • Sound understanding of UK employment law, HR policies, and employee relations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide HR advice and support to managers and employees, particularly across our head office and Drainage workforces, ensuring consistency and alignment with company policy and employment law.
  • Partner with operational leaders to support workforce planning, employee engagement, and team development initiatives.
  • Support recruitment and onboarding processes, including those tailored for mobile and field-based teams.
  • Coordinate employee relations cases (e.g., disciplinaries, grievances, investigations) with professionalism, fairness, and clarity.
  • Support the digitalisation of HR processes through automation and AI tools to enhance efficiency and employee experience.
  • Contribute to the development and deployment of people analytics, reporting on trends such as retention, engagement, and performance.
  • Support delivery of training, performance reviews, and personal development plans across office and remote teams.
  • Drive inclusion and wellbeing initiatives that reflect the challenges of field-based work, such as loneliness, safety, and flexible working.
  • Champion employee voice and engagement, using innovative digital tools to ensure employees are heard and supported.
  • Assist in embedding the company’s values in day-to-day people practices and communications.
  • Support social value initiatives through recruitment, apprenticeships, and community-based employment programmes.
  • Play an active role in digital transformation and change initiatives affecting people & culture.
