Overview
We are looking for a full time Drainage Engineer – Jetting Team Leader to join our growing team of service engineers. You’ll be working alongside our other service engineers across a large number of our commercial clients across the central belt of Scotland and other areas where required.
This is a fully remote role and requires a full UK driving licence.
This role will support the effective, efficient, and safe delivery of our client services by attending client sites to conduct planned and reactive maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Working on reactive contracts, undertaking all aspects of drainage fault-finding works, including HPW jetting/drain cleaning works, drain unblocking, diagnosing and repairing common plumbing issues, CCTV drain surveying, drainage works problem solving.
- Providing accurate timesheet information to designated timeframes.
- Supporting contract teams with meeting SLA\’s by attending client premises within the required time frames.
- Supporting Thermatic in maintaining positive client relationships through on-site interactions with representatives and client customers.
- Escalating any major site issues or incidents via the appropriate channels, and within required timeframes.
- Supporting in the training and upskilling of junior engineers where required.
Key Qualifications
- Essential:
- Minimum 3 years’ drainage experience.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience operating high-pressure water jetting equipment.
- High-pressure water jetting safety awareness certified.
- Working knowledge of drainage systems.
- Working knowledge of unblocking drainage systems.
- Competent in diagnosing and repairing common plumbing issues.
- Competent in using CCTV drain survey equipment.
- Confident problem solver.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Sound understanding and experience of meeting Health and Safety obligations.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Desirable:
- Minimum 2 years’ drainage experience within the reactive maintenance/FM industry.
- Manual Handling.
- First Aid.
- Confined Space entry certified.
- Use of CAT (cable avoidance tool) for utility and sonde location works – training will be provided.
- Asbestos Awareness certified.
- CSCS Card.

Hours & Location
Main location – this is a fully mobile role covering the central belt of Scotland and surrounding areas.
Regular hours of work – Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 4:30pm, a 42.5 hour working week.
Whilst this is our company standard working week, our clients require \’out of hours\’ work in the form of an on‑call rota, so occasional early starts, late finishes and weekend work is to be expected.
