Ammanford (Capel Hendre) · Home every night · £42,000–£50,000 + van + overtime
Thermal Earth has installed over 3,500 heat pump systems across the UK. We design, install and maintain ground and air source systems — including Wales' first commercial mine water heat scheme, at our own HQ.
We're looking for a Senior Electrician to lead the electrical side of that work.
What you'll actually be doing:
- First and second fix on heat pump installs — supplies, isolators, controls wiring, immersion and cylinder circuits, load monitoring, commissioning support
- EV chargepoint installs and solar PV / battery storage work
- Leading a small team of electricians and mates: allocating work, checking quality, mentoring apprentices
- Inspection, testing and certification — EICs, MEIWCs, and signing off the team's work
- Notifications, DNO applications and G98/G99 paperwork
- Working with our design and install teams so the electrical scope is right before anyone gets on site — not fixed after
What you need:
- NVQ Level 3 (or City & Guilds 2360/2365 + AM2)
- 18th Edition BS 7671 (current amendment)
- City & Guilds 2391 (or 2394/95) inspection and testing
- ECS Gold Card
- Full UK driving licence
- The judgement to run a job and the patience to bring a younger spark on
What'll put you at the front of the queue:
- Heat pump, solar PV or battery storage experience — any of the three
- 2921 EV charging installation
- 2919 PV and battery storage
- Experience with heating controls, S-plan / Y-plan, and third-party control integration
- Domestic retrofit work in occupied homes
If you're a strong, well-organised spark with a solid domestic or commercial background, we'll train you. The tickets we can add. The standards and the attitude have to already be there.
What you get:
- £42,000–£50,000 depending on experience and tickets
- Van, fuel card and power tools
- Overtime paid, plus 28 days holiday inc bank holidays
- Pension
- Paid training and tickets — including anything you're missing on the renewables side
- Local patch: South and West Wales, home every night.
- A pipeline of work that isn't going anywhere. Heat pumps are the long game and we've been at it longer than most
NO Agencies.
