The Department
Our Women’s First Team compete in the Barclays Women’s Super League, the highest league in the country for professional women’s football. We are proud of the growth we’ve achieved as a team, finishing 6th in the 2024/2025 season. As we continue our journey and build for the future, we are focusing our efforts on having the right resources in place to support our ambitious vision: nurturing, encouraging, and developing talent – and establishing ourselves as a leading force in women’s football.
The Role
We are looking for an Opposition Analyst to join the team who will be responsible for the video and data preview of the upcoming opposition, highlighting key trends to ensure our staff and playing squad are as prepared as possible. Utilising an evidence-based approach, you will use provided in-house opposition data packs to supplement any video trends found. You will present both video and data findings to the Head Coach and technical staff to allow game strategy preparation and assist relevant technical staff in the selection of video which will be delivered in team meetings. You will play a key role on matchdays as you will utilise coding (alongside the performance analyst) and communicate with coaches in-game to help advise any potential changes to game strategy, as well as provide and select relevant video clips with coaching staff to be delivered at half-time.
The Person
- You must hold a BSc (Hons) in Performance Analysis, Sport Science (or a related degree) and have previous experience working in a performance analysis capacity at a professional football club.
- You must have the ability to contextualise both observations and available data to make accurate assessments.
- You must have strong verbal and written communication skills which are clear, concise and accurate to present information concisely to technical staff.
- You must be IT literate and have experience of using analysis systems such as Hudl, Sportscode (or similar software).
- You must hold a full, UK driving licence and be able to work flexibly as this role will require you to work evenings, weekends and matchdays in line with the team schedule.
