We currently have fantastic opportunities for people to join our small yet dynamic, motivated and dedicated team to support with a gentleman with Huntington's Disease.
Huntington's disease (HD) is a rare, hereditary, degenerative disorder of the brain. Symptoms include motor (movement), behavioural (e.g., mood) and cognitive (e.g., understanding) disturbances, which, in the majority of cases, appear in mid-adult life. There are currently no therapies to effectively treat the underlying causes of HD, although there are treatments that can alleviate some of its symptoms and improve quality of life.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the people we support. All successful candidates are subject to an Enhanced DBS check for Regulated Activity and two written references will be obtained before making an appointment. We offer competitive rates of pay, company uniform, PPE, full free training and on-going support.
Duties include:
- personal care
- preparing food
- eating and drinking support
- personal hygiene and appearance
- medication support
- occasional challenging behaviour
- living with a chronic condition or disability
