Role Description

The Lead Installer is a full-time, hybrid role based in Camberley, with a mix of on-site work at customer locations and some work-from-home tasks such as planning, reporting, and remote support. In this role, the Lead Installer oversees the installation, configuration, and commissioning of digital systems, including displays, kiosks, cabinets, networking equipment, and related hardware. Typical day-to-day activities include reviewing project plans, preparing tools and materials, leading on-site installation teams, coordinating with project managers and clients, and ensuring all work meets quality, safety, and compliance standards.

The Lead Installer troubleshoots technical issues, documents installations, trains site staff on system use, and provides feedback to engineering and support teams to improve deployment processes. This position requires occasional travel to customer sites and a strong focus on delivering reliable, well-tested solutions on schedule.

Qualifications

  • Strong technical installation skills, including experience with digital signage, kiosks, display systems, media players and similar hardware-based solutions.
  • Hands-on knowledge of networking and communications infrastructure (e.g., cabling, routers, switches, Wi-Fi, basic configuration and diagnostics).
  • Project coordination abilities, including reading technical drawings, following installation plans, and managing tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Proven leadership experience in the field, with the ability to guide installation teams, assign tasks, and maintain safe and efficient work practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues on-site with minimal supervision.
  • Clear, professional communication skills for working with clients, colleagues, and partners, both in person and remotely.
  • Comfort with hybrid working arrangements, including travel to customer locations and use of digital tools for documentation and reporting.
  • Relevant vocational training or certification in electrical installation, IT, networking, or a related technical field; previous experience in hospitality or retail technology is an advantage.
  • Valid driving license and willingness to travel within the UK and, where required, to EU partner sites.
