Qualifications
- Bachelor’s and Master’s degree (or PhD) in Life Sciences, Engineering, and/or Business
- Strong knowledge of outsourced GMP manufacturing operations
- Proven ability to influence, negotiate, and build relationships across complex environments with multiple internal and external stakeholders
- Experience working cross‑functionally, ideally within an outsourced business model
- Commercially aware with a strong analytical mindset and problem‑solving capability
- Solid understanding of contracting processes, with the ability to develop and implement supply agreements
- Hands‑on approach with the flexibility to operate effectively at both strategic and operational levels
- Extensive experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other highly regulated industries, across areas such as Procurement, Purchasing, Supply Chain, or Collaboration Management
- Experience in external/third‑party direct procurement, ideally including procurement of finished products and APIs
Responsibilities
- Own category procurement, developing and delivering strategic sourcing initiatives to ensure business continuity, optimise spend, and achieve year‑on‑year cost savings
- Lead the assessment of supply agreements with third‑party suppliers, including contract negotiations, extensions, and amendments in collaboration with Legal
- Provide strategic input into the identification and evaluation of new suppliers in partnership with the wider Operations team, and coordinate RFx processes in close alignment with senior stakeholders
- Build and maintain strong relationships with third‑party suppliers to enhance commercial performance across the portfolio
- Maintain and continuously improve procurement processes to ensure consistent, cost‑effective decision‑making
- Represent Procurement internally across the organisation and externally, engaging effectively from operational teams through to senior leadership
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards, including relevant regulations, policies, and procedures
- Travel to third‑party suppliers for business reviews, contract discussions, and due diligence activities (up to 20%)
