Job Title: Quality and Involvement Supporter (Thera East Anglia)Location: Home-based in Cambridgeshire or surrounding areas with TravelContract: Relief, as and when required with a flexible approach to working hours and daysSalary: £12.21 per hourDriving Requirement: Must hold a full UK driving licence with the ability to drive for work About Us: The Quality & Involvement Team at Thera Trust is a peer-led quality checking service providing vital feedback about the quality of care and support for people with learning disabilities and/or autism. Using your experience of providing high-quality support, as a Quality and Involvement Supporter, you will work alongside the Expert by Experience to ensure they can carry out their roles to their full potential. Having received support themselves, our Experts by Experience use their own lived experience to gather insights from others receiving support, helping to ensure person-centred and meaningful care. Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Experts by Experience to observe and assess support
  • Conduct one-to-one discussions with people receiving support and their close contacts to gather opinions on care quality
  • Participate in peer-led quality checks in person and via Teams when required
  • Support the Experts by Experience in facilitating workshops and group events to collect feedback
  • Attend meetings and training virtually or in person as needed
  • Record and document information accurately
  • Share findings to help build detailed reports for the organization
  • Build trusting relationships with Experts by Experience and individuals receiving support
  • Collaborate across departments with the Quality & Involvement Facilitator to deliver work plans effectively

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Understanding of Quality Standards and how to assess care quality
  • Knowledge of good person-centred support and ability to evaluate it
  • Understanding of adult safeguarding, community inclusion, and support approaches
  • Ability to promote independence and support development
  • Strong organisational skills for managing time and travel within flexible hours
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for working with diverse groups
  • Advocacy for the rights and dignity of individuals with learning disabilities
  • Proficiency with technology (e.g., Microsoft Outlook, Word, Teams)
  • Comfort engaging with unfamiliar individuals and delivering accessible workshops

Qualifications:

  • Care Certificate or experience supporting a family member with a learning disability or autism
  • NVQ or equivalent in Health & Social Care
  • Experience in support or care settings is beneficial
