The predicted salary is between 10 - 15 ÂŁ per hour.

Location: Home-based in Leeds, or able to pick up a colleague in Leeds and travel to wider areas of Lancashire, County Durham & Cumbria.

Contract: Relief, as and when required with a flexible approach to working hours and days.

Salary: ÂŁ12.21 per hour

Driving Requirement: Must hold a full UK driving licence with the ability to drive for work.

About Us: The Quality & Involvement Team at Thera Trust are a peer‑led quality checking service, who provide vital feedback about the quality of care and support that people with learning disabilities and/or autism receive. Using your experience of providing high‑quality support, you will work alongside the Expert by Experience to ensure they can carry out their roles to their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Experts by Experience to observe and assess others’ support.
  • Conduct one‑to‑one discussions with people receiving support and those close to them to gather opinions on the quality of care.
  • Take part in peer‑led quality checking processes in person as well as via Teams, when required.
  • Support the Experts by Experience in facilitating workshops/group events to collect feedback from others about their support experiences.
  • Attend meetings and training virtually or in person as required.
  • Record and document information accurately.
  • Share your findings and observations to help build detailed reports for the company.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with both the Experts by Experience and the individuals whose support you are assessing.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across different departments and work alongside the Quality & Involvement Facilitator to ensure smooth delivery of your work plan.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Strong understanding of Quality Standards and how to assess care quality against them.
  • Know what good person‑centred support looks like, be able to demonstrate and evaluate it effectively, and identify areas that require improvement.
  • Knowledge of adult safeguarding, person‑centred approaches, and how individuals can be part of their community.
  • Ability to promote independence and development for the Expert by Experience, while providing necessary support.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time, travel, and deliver tasks on schedule within a flexible contract structure.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work and communicate effectively with a diverse group of people, ensuring that everyone feels valued, respected, and included.
  • Be an advocate for the rights and dignity of individuals with learning disabilities, and a passion for person‑centred care.
  • Ability to use technology (e.g., Microsoft Outlook, Word, Teams) to manage work and communication.
  • Be comfortable engaging with individuals you haven’t met before and delivering workshops that are accessible to all.

Qualifications:

  • Care Certificate or direct experience of supporting a family member with a learning disability or autism.
  • NVQ or equivalent in Health & Social Care.
  • Experience working in a support or care setting would be beneficial.
